Also not fit for selection is another defender, Adrian Lopez, along with goalkeeper Mike Pollitt and midfielders Ben Watson, Albert Crusat, Ryo Miyaichi and Fraser Fyvie.

Forward Arouna Koné is away on Africa Cup of Nations and full-back Emmerson Boyce is a doubt.
After Manchester United secured a hard-fought 2-1 win over Southampton on Wednesday night, Sir Alex Ferguson said that Mauricio Pochettino’s side were the best team to have tested United at Old Trafford this season. And although it may take a while for Saints fans to adjust to the arrival of Pochettino, it seems the players have reacted well.
With a tough opener against Everton yielding a draw and then the trip to Old Trafford, it is likely the Spaniard will have had one eye on this fixture, with Wigan just below Southampton in the relegation places.
The Latics have just one win in the league from 11, but there were signs that Roberto Martinez was starting to work his magic again during the week, when his side turned around a 2-0 deficit against Stoke to come away from the Britannia with a point.
