Rimi Sen (Bengali: রিমি সেন) is an Indian actress working in the Bollywood film industry. Her real name is Shubhomitra Sen. She is also an Odissi dancer and performed in the dance troupe of the eminent Kolkata-based Odissi exponent, Aloka Kanungo.

Rimi Sen, nick-named "Bollywood's Lucky Mascot" lost 8 kilos for her role as Sweety in Dhoom in 2004
Her last release was De Taali in 2008. In 2007 she appeared in Johnny Gaddaar alongside newcomer actor Neil Nitin Mukesh. She also had a cameo in 2006 film Dhoom 2.
Rimi is now going by the screen name Rimmi. She explains the name change as a career move: there are many other Sens working in Bollywood right now, and a single name may help her stand out from the crowd and stay apart from others.
Rimi completed her schooling from Bidya Bharati Girls' High School in the year 1998.
Controversy:
Rimi caused widespread offence in an interview statement in 2005, regarding the talent abilities of the director of the film Golmaal, Rohit Shetty. When complimented by a journalist on how good she'd looked in the film she was quoted as saying “Rohit Shetty is amazing as a director that he can even make a Black African look pretty”.
Numerous social groups reacted negatively and called for Rimi to be made to apologise for the comment. The interview was removed from many online Bollywood related sites due to an onset of complaints from site visitors. Rimi has not made a formal statement on the incident from any medium at present.

Movie Info:
The director has come up with an illogical storyline and while the presentation was bad, the narrative was spineless. The dialogues were stale, the script was hollow and the screenplay was erratic. Background score was weak and only one song was worth watching. Cinematography was the worst. Editing was raw. Costumes were moderate while the art department was matching the situations. Vinod Krishna has to work hard on his skills if he is planning for a long term career. Deepusanth was disappointing and gave blank expressions. The only consolation was Vinay Fort who showed potential. Mythili was stunningly beautiful and has a sensuous sex appeal in her. She deserves more opportunities. The cameo by Manoj Jayan was dull. Suraj Venjaramoodu was annoying. The others didn't have scope.

The film takes off on a different note and when all of them think it is a thriller, it turns out to be something else. While the first half is somewhat okay and passes off, it is the second half that takes a completely different turn and tests the patience of the audience. With poor direction, blank performances from the majority of the lead cast, the film ends up confusing the viewer. At the box office, it is very remote that the film will score any decent collection.

The steamy posters and trailers of Vidya Balan's upcoming movie The Dirty Picture have become a big sensation on the internet. But the new theatrical trailer of the Silk Smitha's biopic has reportedly been objected by the Censor Board, which has asked the makers to cut certain scenes.

Reports suggest that the officials of the Censor Board felt that the second trailer of The Dirty Picture was too explicit and thus not fit for theatrical or television exhibition, unless it is given an 'A' certificate. But the producers wanted U/A rating for the trailer, which would be shown with as many films as possible starting with Shahid Kapoor's Mausam.
According to reports, the Censor Board objected the lovemaking scene between Vidya Balan and Naseeruddin Shah in the car and certain abusive words in Naseeruddin's dialogue. In a bid to get U/A certificate, the bosses of The Dirty Picture have taken necessary action to cut them.
However, Balaji Motion Pictures' CEO, Tanuj Garg has admitted cutting a few scenes. Tanuj says, "The Censor Board felt that a few scenes and words in the trailer might not be appropriate for television and for people watching a U/A film in cinemas. On the other hand, we were clear that we needed a U/A. Hence, we complied with their requests."

Madhuri Dixit, the dhak-dhak girl, who was touted as the Madhubala of the 1990's is relocating to Mumbai – And this time it is for good! Madhuri will be accompanied by husband Dr Sriram Madhav Nene and kids, Arin and Ryan.

Speaking to Mumbai Mirror over the phone from Denver recently, Madhuri Dixit Nene announced her plans to leave Denver and relocate to Mumbai along with her kids and husband, Dr Sriram Nene.
Madhuri, in the interview informed that she is on the lookout for a nice school for both her children. Arin is a grade III student while Ryan is in grade I. The actress, who believes that India is fast, becoming a land of opportunities revealed that her husband Dr Nene, a cardiovascular surgeon by profession is in touch with his friends in the medical field and also some of the best hospitals in the city.
When asked what prompted them to take this decision, Madhuri Dixit replied that there were a number of factors that led to the move. Talking about her kids, Madhuri said, “It would be a great experience culturally for them. This is where their roots are. They are at an age where they can adapt quickly. They'll be giving up their friends here, but they are looking forward to making friends there. I want them to learn Hindi and Marathi. I think it will be an exciting time for them too.”
Though Madhuri Dixit Nene has no immediate plans to buy another house in Mumbai, she plans to make some changes in her Juhu apartment to make the house more kids-friendly.

Bollywood movie Agneepath, which features Hrithik Roshan, Priyanka Chopra and Sanjay Dutt in the leads, is scheduled to release on the Republic day, January 26, 2012. The remake of 1990 cult classic was to release on January 13, but producer Karan Johar has deferred its release date to cash in on the long weekend.

Talking to the PTI, Karan Johar said, “Agneepath is definitely a quintessential Indian Film. The original Agneepath released in 1990 acquired a cult status, we are hoping for a super-hit status with this one and the four-day weekend should help us achieve our goal.”
The first trailer, which was released in Mumbai a few weeks ago, has received very good reactions. Especially, Sanjay Dutt's bald look has created lot of curiosity among the movie buffs. The producer has planned to unveil the next trailer in October-November. Meanwhile, Karan Johar is hoping to seal the distributor and satellite deals soon.
However, it should be recalled here that Aamir Khan's Dhuan and Ajay Devgn's Tezz have already been announced to hit the screens on the Republic Day, January 26. Both actors are reportedly sending feelers to each other to postpone the release. Now, producer Karan Johar is joining their fight by scheduling the release of Agneepath on the same day.

Actress Sonali Bendre is considering doing a fitness based reality show. According to reports, the Bollywood star, who is known for her discipline to fitness, has recently been approached by a TV channel for the show. So she is looking into the concept and details of the show before she accepts it.

Talking to the PTI about the fitness based reality show, Sonali Bendre said, "I am considering getting on aboard the show. But I am still figuring out the concept...it has to be something that is fitting for all audiences to watch. On the other hand, fitness for me is a way of life so I am very excited about the venture."
However, Sonali Bendre has hosted a dance show Kya Masti Kya Dhoom ten years ago. Sonali has also judged the fourth season of Indian Idol along with Anu Malik and Javed Akhtar and Kailash Kher. She was last seen as a judge on the third season of India's Got Talent along with Dharmendra and actress Kirron Kher.

After launching Being Human, a charitable NGO, Salman Khan has reportedly opened a charitable dispensary, a make-shift medical camp in a garden opposite his own house in Bandstand, Mumbai.

If reports are to be believed, Salman has arranged for a medical camp every Tuesday in a garden opposite his house in Bandstand, Mumbai. Currently, there is just one doctor who treats forty patients on that day. The cost of each patient, which comes up to Rs 300 is apparently borne solely by Salman Khan. The camp is reportedly set with only a chair and a table.
To add to it, Salman Khan also looks into the follow up treatment for patients if required.
As per sources, Salman Khan doesn't want to publicise his initiative, and therefore asked his friends in NGOs to secretly spread the word about the consultation.
Moreover, in a bid to ward off unwanted attention, Salman Khan decided against hiring a reputed specialist to attend to the patients.
Salman Khan has not only won the hearts of his audiences at the box office with his blockbusters, but has also secured himself a permanent place in the hearts of people with his charitable acts. Wonder if there is another Rajinikanth in the making!

Bollywood movie Rivaaz, which features Deepti Naval, Reema Lagoo and Vijay Raaz in the leads, has made a very poor opening at the Box Office. Director Ashok Nanda’s film is said to have failed to impress the movie buffs. Its bad beginning has benefited previous releases like Mere Brother Ki Dulhan and Bodyguard at the Box Office this weekend.

Mausam was postponed to next week and there was no other big release this weekend. So the film Rivaaz was expected to do well at the Box Office, but it took a very poor opening, which benefitted the collections of MBKD and Bodyguard to gain momentum. They did well at the collection centres.
However, Rivaaz had a limited release and was not being screened in the states like Punjab, Orrisa and Assam. This was also one reason for its poor collection. Its rival MBKD went down by more than 50% in the second week, but it earned decent money over the weekend and gross collections amounted to around Rs 16 lakh.
