Injured defenders Jamie Hamill and Danny Grainger remain sidelined for the long term.

Gary Harkins is set to return to the Dundee team.

Harkins rejoined Dundee from Kilmarnock on Friday but a gentleman's agreement prevented him facing the Ayrshire side on Sunday.

Dundee are still without long-term injured players such as skipper Stephen O'Donnell (knee) Davide Grassi (knee), Mark Kerr (knee), Jamie McCluskey (Achilles), and Carl Finnigan (knee).

Hearts manager John McGlynn: "Wednesday night is the priority for me, the League Cup final goes on the back burner.

"Dundee have beaten us twice, and if you can't get a boost from getting to a cup final, then when do you get a boost?

"We appreciate that Dundee will be fighting for their lives, so we've got to make sure that we're very much up for it."

Dundee manager Barry Smith: "We have had two good results against them so far this season.

"We shouldn't have any sort of fear going into this match.

"We know what we have to do and we have got to go out there and show that we can get the three points.

"Hearts are a good side as they've just shown by getting to the final of the League Cup.

"But we have to concentrate on what we do and hopefully come away with another positive result."

Kilmarnock manager Kenny Shiels: "We will give the kids a go, it's a development game for us.

"We will throw in five teenagers. We have got it planned out what we are going to do and we'll see how it goes.

"It's for their education and it's a long-term plan that I have.

"Hopefully they give a good performance and learn from their mistakes and their experience."

 St Johnstone manager Steve Lomas: "We are very thin on the ground. We have lost Gary Miller for eight weeks.

"Steven Anderson is still getting back from his cartilage operation and will be at least another couple of weeks.

"We are taking a huge gamble in the second half of the season with the number of players we have got, but that's not down to me.

"I can only make my recommendations.

"But I do think we are taking a very, very big gamble. We have probably got the smallest squad in the SPL."

Aberdeen manager Craig Brown: "We've had favourable results away from home, which would indicate that we're suited to playing away.

"We'll take a huge support down with us, and we mustn't disappoint them.

"We'll be playing on a very good surface, which I think will help us.

 Huddersfield Town

Sixth-bottom Huddersfield are making a 13th attempt to pick up their first league win, since a 1-0 victory at Barnsley on 10 November.The caretaker managerial team of Mark Lillis and Steve Eyre will need to shore up a defence that has leaked 11 goals in three league outings.If selected, Peter Clarke will be making his 150th regular league appearance for Huddersfield.

Crystal Palace

Fifth-placed Crystal Palace have won only one of their last 10 in all competitions, but have also lost fewer Championship games than any other club, with the exception of Cardiff and Brighton; all three have been beaten just six times.
The Eagles have recorded only one away win under Ian Holloway, and are searching for a first in seven on their Championship travels.If he participates, Jacob Butterfield will be making his 100th career league appearance.

There have been improvements all round in the Reading team, not least in the increasingly apparent collective desire to get out of the bottom three. In recent weeks though, it has been the form of their forwards that has seen them make the most of their all-round improvement.Pavel Pogrebnyak grabbed three in three league games, including winners against West Ham United and West Bromwich Albion.

In the latter game Adam Le Fondre also scored before adding a brace a week later in that Newcastle win. Another two for him came prior to that in the FA Cup, a competition that has also seen Noel Hunt stake his claim for a starting place with three goals of his own as they have progressed to the fifth round.Hunt may miss Wednesday’s game through injury. Right now though, they will confident about any of their strikers coming in and getting a goal.Considering Chelsea’s erratic form, Reading might consider now as good as time as any to play the European champions. Or should they?

 Reading

This is Reading's 100th Premier League match. They have won 30, drawn 20 and lost 49.
They have managed just three clean sheets this season, the lowest in the top-flight along with Wigan. Only the Latics (25) have conceded more goals at home than the Royals (21).Reading have used 26 players in the Premier League this season - only Tottenham, with 27, have used more.

Chelsea

 Rafael Benitez's team have won their last four away matches in the league. The last time they won five in a row was between April and September 2009.They are the only team along with Wigan to have won more points away than they have done at home this season. Frank Lampard is two goals short of becoming the first player in Premier League history to score at least 10 goals in 10 consecutive Premier League seasons.

United sits on the top of the table with 19 wins, two draws and three losses for 56 points while scoring 57 goals and allowing 30 against. Southampton has five wins, eight draws and 10 losses for 23 points. They’re in 16th place with 30 goals for and 40 against. United hasn’t lost in their past 11 matches and are coming off of a 4-1 home win over Fulham in the FA Cup on Saturday. They’ve also managed to beat Southampton seven times in a row. Their earlier meeting this season was a 3-2 away win.Southampton are playing well at the moment too and have lost just one time in their past seven contests. However, five of those games have been draws. United will welcome Nick Powell back to the squad after he has been out with an injury. It looks like Jonny Evans and Ashley Young are going to miss the match. For Southampton, the status of Adam Lallana is up in the air while striker Guilhermo do Prado will probably miss the game along with Jose Fonte.

Man United has a lot of offensive weapons with Dutch international Robin van Persie being their most dangerous. He single-handedly sank Southampton earlier this season by scoring all three of United’s goals, including the winner in the last minute of play. Southampton actually threw that game away after building up a 2-0 lead. Former manager Nigel Adkins that made some odd and unnecessary substitutions that turned the lead into a loss. Adkins has been replaced after getting the sack a few weeks ago and the 40-year-old Mauricio Pochettino is now managing the club. He’s a former manager and player with Spanish club Espanyol, but was also sacked back in November for poor results.

 Manchester United

Southampton

The Saints are unbeaten in their last six Premier League matches - their longest unbeaten top-flight run since August to September 2003.They have conceded 26 Premier League away goals this season. Only Aston Villa, with 28, have conceded more in the division.Southampton have lost both Premier League matches against Manchester opponents this season by a 3-2 scoreline. On both occasions they were 2-1 up.They have 23 points from 23 Premier League matches this season - eight more points than they had at this stage of their last Premier League season in 2004-05, when they were relegated.Rickie Lambert has scored in each of the club's last four Premier League away matches, and is two short of scoring 100 goals for Southampton in all competitions.

However, Fulham will be without several players for this one. Simon Davies, Mahamadou Diarra and Keiran Richardson are all likely to miss this tie with injuries, but new loan signing Emmanuel Frimpong could be given a start.

 Fulham

Fulham are the only team yet to win a Premier League London derby this season (D2, L3).
 Martin Jol's men have won two of their last 15 league games (W2, D6, L7).
They have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last nine league matches.

West Ham United

The Hammers have claimed eight points from the last 33 available, and have lost five of their previous six away league games (D1, L5). Sam Allardyce's men have scored six away league goals this season, fewer than any other Premier League side. Stoke (eight) are the only other side not yet in double figures.They have only kept one clean sheet in their last 12 league games.

They have conceded 11 goals in their last four league matches and have let in more Premier League goals than bottom side QPR.Defender Russell Martin has scored Norwich's last three goals in the league.
They have picked up the equal-fewest yellow cards (22) with Arsenal and Southampton in the top flight this season.

Tottenham

Spurs have 41 points from 23 league matches this season, which is eight less than they had last season. Arsenal and Liverpool will go into their match at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday looking back up the table rather than down after victories in their last league outings.Arsenal were back to their best in thrashing West Ham United 5-1, while Liverpool's fluid 5-0 demolition of Norwich City at Anfield left home fans wondering why they can't play like that every week.
Brendan Rodgers' side then lost at Oldham Athletic in the FA Cup, but he will no doubt be reminding his players of the highs they reached against the Canaries, not the lows of Boundary Park, as they head to north London for a crucial game in the two sides' respective bids for European qualification.On paper, Arsenal look the favourites. Luis Suarez is the first Liverpool player to reach 20 goals in a season before the end of January since Michael Owen 11 years ago. Joe Allen could make his 150th career league appearance.
