In the back country of Louisiana, a group of friends unearth a terrible secret that unleashes a monster from the depths of the swamp.

Movie Plot Summary:
An ex-Navy seal (Mehcad Brooks), his girlfriend (Serinda Swan) and their friends head out on a road trip to New Orleans. The group decides to stop at a roadside convenience store owned by Chopper (Sid Haig), who tells them the tale of Lockjaw, a fabled god-like creature who is half-man, half-alligator.
The legend has it that an inbred local man by the name of Grimley (Daniel Bernhardt) lost his family to a monstrous white alligator, which then drove him to madness and some believe he was transformed into that very creature that now haunts the depths of the swamps. Their curiosity peaked, the group decides to play along with the local tourist trap and journey deep into the backwoods to find the old dilapidated cabin which is supposed to be the birthplace of the creature.
As they set-up camp for the night, their faith is put to the test when Lockjaw turns out to be more than just a myth and they realize the locals are hiding a horrifying secret that jeopardizes them all.

Hollywood Movie Burke and Hare 2011 Watch Trailer Review Story Cast And Crew

The Story:
A horror comedy directed by John Landis, Burke and Hare is based on a true story about the U.K.'s earliest serial killers, William Burke ({PEduXdhgxLtKgm||Simon Pegg}) and William Hare ({PEejCmhjdoD4he||Andy Serkis}), gravediggers who lucratively sold the corpses of their victims to a medical college for dissection. {PEvWbEACYLV3zC||Isla Fisher} plays {PEduXdhgxLtKgm||Pegg}'s girlfriend, an actress looking for a patron who might or might not be an accomplice to the murders. {PE0zf752tgew24||Tom Wilkinson} plays Dr. Robert Knox, an anatomy lecturer looking for fresh corpses.

Movie Review:

Released just in time for Halloween is the macabre tale of Burke and Hare! Set in 1820's Edinburgh, two Irish immigrants, William Burke (Simon Pegg) and William Hare (Andy Serkis), try one business venture after the next, and one after the next they fail. Just at the point where they're about to face financial ruin, the duo come up with an ingenious idea when they spot a in the niche in the market for the supply and demand of fresh dead bodies which manages to turn their fortunes around.
The story is inspired by true events which took place in Edinburgh between November 1827 and 31 October 1828 when the real life Bukre and Hare murdered 16 people and sold their bodies to a private anatomy lecturer, Doctor Robert Knox (played by Tom Wilkinson in the film), for dissection at Edinburgh Medical College. Although this is the 8th time their story has been brought to the big screen, this marks the first time that we see them as two likable lead characters.
From a screenplay penned by Nick Moorcroft and Piers Ashworth and directed by the legendary John Landis, Burke And Hare harks back to the days of the old Ealing Studios dark comedies like Kind Hearts and Coronets (1949) and The Ladykillers (1955) which director John Landis is very fond of. It looks at the friendship between these two guys and focuses on the idea of who the bad guys really are. The doctors or the killers themselves? Mixing in a little Shakespeare with an all female production of Macbeth by Isla Fisher's character, Ginny, an aspiring young actress whom Burke falls madly in love with, another layer is added to the story. While Ginny ponders what would drive a man like Macbeth to murder, Burke looks at her and explains the character's motivation; "He did it for love".
By and large, I really enjoyed Bukre and Hare. The biggest challenge the story faced was turning two mass murderers into characters you can follow, laugh with and have empathy for and I think this film does it really well. As Burke is talked into the business with Hare, there's never the slightest feeling that his friend is purposefully leading him down a path to his own downfall, unlike the real Hare who gave Burke up in the end to escape a public hanging. Another element of the movie which was enjoyable was seeing so many familiar faces turning up in smaller roles; Ronnie Corbett decked out in his red and blue uniform as Captain McLintock, Christopher Lee as Old Joseph, one of Buke and Hare's early unfortunates and perhaps the most hilarious scene of all is when they push Paul Whitehouse down a flight of stairs! It's a good one to see if you're after something dark and funny this Halloween.

Movie Review:

by Uncle Creepy
Interestingly enough, the new horror thriller InSight features an analogy during its third act that references the putting together of a jigsaw puzzle. In truth the film has a lot in common with said puzzles. Mainly the fact that if you do them often enough, regardless of what pictures you're making, you're simply going through the motions of getting the job done.
We meet ER nurse Kaitlyn (Zea) as she's about to help her trauma team use a defibrillator to kick-start the heart of a stabbing victim. Then it happens ... said victim becomes lucid for a moment and reveals a tiny bit of info to Kaitlyn before she passes on. There's just one hitch - no one else in the room heard or saw said victim do anything at all. Long story short, Kaitlyn is accidentally electrocuted by the defibrillator, and when she finally comes to, she begins seeing everything the poor girl did before she died. From there on out it's a tango with your standard incompetent police force, headed up by detective Peter Rafferty (Flanery), on the way to catching this chick's killer. Because as stated by our hero nurse multiple times, "Somebody has to!"
As the film goes on, Kaitlyn's visions become more and more detail oriented, and blanks quickly begin to fill in. The identity of the murderer seems to be just a few memories away, and things begin to heat up and get dangerous. Unfortunately, though ... not dangerous enough.
InSight plays like the best thriller that ever appeared on the Lifetime Network (complete with an endless PG-rated sex scene) and brings absolutely nothing new to the table. Much like the jigsaw enthusiasts mentioned previously, it just goes through the motions to get the job done. The twist ending (because you know, there's always a twist) is painfully telegraphed, and when the reveal comes, everything feels kind of pointless, like you've been pissing in the wind for an hour and a half.
Simply put, while not an awful movie by any means, this is a very middle-of-the-road vanilla flavored experience that you've already seen countless times. The only real highlight to be found here is Christopher Lloyd's extremely creepy glorified cameo appearance. Please, film industry, let him continue to do spooky. He's great at it!
I think I'll end this review with an analogy of my own ... Watching InSight is like realizing that menacing shadow on your wall is being cast by nothing more than an ill placed stuffed animal. It has no real claws, no real fangs, and ultimately no real bite.

Movie Review:
A solid family movie,
31 August 2011
by punitivedamages
Seven Days in Utopia tells the story of a man's failure and then his struggle, and it's a familiar storyline, as old as the heroes of Greek mythology.
I watched the movie with my wife, who knows nothing about golf, and my two children, ten and seven. My wife enjoyed it most of all because it was clean, meaning it had no profanity, and the romantic leads were not rolling in bed ten minutes into the movie. The kids liked it too – it was easy to follow, easy to understand, and had plenty of fun parts.
I recommend the movie because it is a pleasurable way to spend a little time. It is not heavy handed in what little preaching it does, which I know puts some people off. Even for those who are put off by Christian movies, I can recommend that they see it and try to think about the values espoused without dwelling on the source of those values.
I am always hesitant to reveal too much plot, but suffice to say the movie touches on many subjects, one of which is small town life. I took away the idea that our frenzied lives are not always good for us, and especially if they deprive us of the time or the mood to reflect on and renew our purpose and our convictions.
It is about golf, and the idea that the game is an individual game, one player vs. the other, as much mental as physical. In the movie, the main character needed to renew his convictions in order to fulfill his purpose, which in his case was excellence at golf.
It is also about the struggle toward redemption, and the path shown in the film is a surrender to God, letting Him take charge and letting go all of the angst that burdens our failures, whether it's a missed golf shoot or even alcoholism.
Recommended as a good solid family movie.

Hollywood Movie Resurrect Dead: The Mystery of The Toynbee Tiles 2011 Watch Trailer Review Story Cast And Crew

Storyline:
An urban mystery unfurls as one man pieces together the surreal meaning of hundreds of cryptic tiled messages that have been appearing in city streets across the U.S. and South America.

Movie Plot Summary:
Beginning in the early 1980s, hundreds of tiles carrying this cryptic message were found embedded in the asphalt of city streets as far apart as New York, Philadelphia, St. Louis, Santiago, and Buenos Aires. Street art? A prank? A message from space?
Filmmaker Jon Foy recounts how young artist Justin Duerr became fascinated with the strange plaques and, with two other Toynbee tile enthusiasts, Steve Weinik and Colin Smith, spent years trying to discover what they meant and who made them. The unlikely investigators uncovered increasingly bizarre clues: a newspaper article, a David Mamet play, a Jupiter colonization organization, and a Toynbee message that hijacked local news broadcasts.
That the origins of a street tile can be so captivating is testament to both Duerr's passion and Foy's filmmaking. Artfully constructed, Resurrect Dead thrusts us into the black hole of this fantastic mystery but also reflects on Duerr himself, and the personal connection he develops in his attempt to find an answer.

A true modern mystery,

by tom-mcchesney
In today's world true mysteries are hard to come by. It seems now if you can't figure out something you simply hop on a computer and do a Google search to find the answer. For example, recently I was stumped by a plague of fruit flies in my house and couldn't seem to get rid of the pests. So after about 3 days of annoyance I jumped on my laptop and typed "how to get rid of fruit flies?" and as easy as that there was recipe to create your own homemade fruit fly trap using a glass, paper and some juice. Mystery solved! In Resurrect Dead the film-makers were stuck in actual mystery that could not be solved with a simple internet search. They dived into a mystery that seemed impossible to solve. For years they were dumbstruck to how the existence of these tiles had ended up on the streets of many metropolitan areas in the eastern seaboard of the US. The documentary brilliantly paces itself into all the years of research, dead ends, and small glimpses of possibilities that shouldn't be ruled out. For me I was enthralled with their logical approach and deduction of where these tiles were coming from and what their message meant. In a way the documentary really motivated me have a mystery to solve in my life. Or an overarching goal that drives me to find what is the truth in this situation? Today it's easy just to go through the normal phases of life and just exist in the norm of what the world says is a good life. But I think we all have unique opportunities that sometimes come in the form of mysteries that only we can solve!

upset and angry after watching the trailer.,

I'm speechless Well OK I'm not, I actually have a lot of angry words to say after watching the "Hellraiser 9: Revelations" trailer. But I was speechless at first. In fact, I was near to crying. I feel as though my Hellbound Heart has been torn from my chest and thrown into the paper shredder.
After seeing the two or three new cenobites in the trailer I wasn't feeling the same emotions of excitement as I had done when I first saw any of the new cenobites in the previous films. I was instantly asking myself so many questions.
Why's pinhead got baggy shoulder pads? Why's the female chatterer got no makeup on her arms? Why's the box got cheap cgi light? Why's the female actress so awful at acting? The camera quality is dreadful. I thought these guys had a budget from dimension?! The Hellraiser YouTube fanfilms are shot better!!! For Christ's sake.
I can't even do as I did with the new Pseudo Cenobites in Hellraiser: Hellworld and say "It was a good attempt" or say like I did about Hellraiser: Hellseeker "At least it has many nods to the original movie and continues the character's story competently". There's nothing positive I can say about it at all. I am struggling every so much to even like the shot of the two Cenobites walking through the iconic chains. Because the crappy new Pinhead does a silly, what I can only guess was the actor's attempt at looking threatening, slow head-nod to the side as he walked. Erm- have you ever seen a Hellraiser movie Mister actor? Did Doug Bradley (legend) EVER snarl and turn his head as he walked? NO! Next time you get an acting role; do a little research into the character. I'm not asking you to buy a book or even buy a film, but at least watch a clip on YouTube to try to emulate the previous actor's performance if you are taking on such an iconic role. It's not hard. In fact IT'S WHAT YOU ARE PAID FOR.
Ha-ha the "light saber lament", as it's now being referred to on Facebook, that blue neon glow looks awful. Why did they go for that look? Even in Hellraiser: Inferno they managed to achieve a passable effect by just adding a blurred white glow over the box, which hides any of the movement mechanisms and wires and also contributes to the "other worldly" effect. But a cartoony blue glow?! I found it pathetic.

Dee accepts the challenge and partners with gung-ho Commander Bei and the Ghost Doctor, a master of disguise, to solve the crimes.

Synopsis:

Hoping that he will solve the crime before her coronation, Wu appoints Dee Chief Judge of the Empire and implores him to combine his indisputable wisdom with his unparalleled martial arts skills to save the future of her dynasty. Director Hark Tsui (Seven Swords) teams with stunt director Sammo Huang in this heart-pounding, epic thriller inspired by the incredible true story of one of the Tang Dynastys most celebrated officials.

Movie Review:
A fine return to form, and ready for a franchise.,
7 April 2011
by Coolestmovies
A super-sized fantasy epic -- and a cracking good mystery story -- from a director who, for this viewer's money, has never completely lost his mojo, despite some box-office and critical misfires in recent years. DETECTIVE DEE carries on the tradition of exhilarating visual craftsmanship that Tsui Hark has demonstrated on many of his pictures over the years, only here it's fronted by a franchise-worthy leading figure in real-life Tang Dynasty forensic detective De Renjie (Andy Lau), and buttressed with Tsui's inimitable visual zest and a smart, politically-tinged and ultimately very satisfying mystery narrative in which senior government officials spontaneously combust from the inside out. As in his best costume fantasies (and even a couple of his not-so-best, such as LEGEND OF ZU), Tsui again conjures some of the most captivating scenery yet seen in a Chinese film, including a 200-foot tall statue-in-progress of Buddha (complete with scaffolding and suspension bridges connected to a central tower) that figures prominently into a spectacular plot to kill the wicked and divisive Empress Wu (Carina Lau), and the underground Phantom Market, a massive, forbidding, fire-lit city of caves wherein a key witness (Richard Ng) resides. Opulent palace interiors have been seen in countless Chinese films and TV series over the years, but feel fresh here -- I don't know if it's simply new sets, new set dressing or new camera angles, but it all feels purpose-built for this production (perhaps it was?). Sammo Hung's choreography is impeccably designed and flawlessly edited, and loaded with the kind of soaring wireworked wuxia you may not realize you sorely missed in Hong Kong/Chinese action movies because so many people have knocked it nearly every time it has been used in the last decade. The film's plentiful CGI is, for the most part, seamlessly integrated, such is the level of technical expertise of contemporary effects houses across Asia, in this case armies of computer jockeys in Korea and Hong Kong (their only weak spot perhaps being an onslaught of battling deer, which are just enough left-of-field to make up for any weaknesses in their rendering). Despite being largely a Mainland production (as far as I know), this has the heart and soul of a classic Hong Kong fantasy, particularly those of it's ace director, albeit one made with much cooler modern filmmaking toys.
