After a long time, veteran producers M Saravanan and M S Gugan are producing a movie titled Mudhal Idam under the banner AVM starring Vidarth of Mynaa fame and Kavitha Nair in protagonist roles. Actually it was planned to shoot few action sequences on Vidarth Thanjavur’s Sandhai Pettai where there will be dense casuarinas and bamboo trees. Vidarth has to fight with the villains in those action scenes. But a huge set has been erected in a similar way instead of filming in the midst of natural bamboo trees. The reason is nothing but the crowd which might throng to witness the shooting and disturb the work. Now with climax action sequences being shot, the film’s shooting is done. Well unit is now planning for post production work. Audio launch is expected to take place soon.

Movie Story:
Late one night, a mysterious car is brought into the Chicago police impound garage after a deadly traffic accident. The on-call mechanics soon discover the car has a mind of its own. With hundreds of horsepower and two tons of reinforced steel at its command, it's a seemingly unstoppable killing machine capable of outrunning -- and outwitting -- humans.

Movie Review:
More entertaining than most "good, professional"
2 July 2011
by Iranian
Well, I must say the movie is better than some of the reviews here make it out to be. There are way more stupid "horror" films out there. The first 30 minutes were intriguing, that is up to the point that the guys still have no idea what they are dealing with. From there on, it turns into a "creature feature" movie with the car emitting some freaky noise. (Why didn't it do that before it was known what it actually was?) It was rather fun to watch how they went about hunting the "car" or to be more exact, how the car went about hunting them!
Here's how it feels to watch this. You all know those movies where a killer in a car is chasing a victim in the dark to run him over. Well, that's exactly what you will get here from the beginning to the end, except that there's no killer.
The movie could've been a lot better if the makers decided to crush some nice sports car like the red one in the beginning, but, due to its being low-budget, all the cars are old and uninteresting. Wouldn't the creature be able to chase his food if it was a fast Ferrari? The design of the creature was awful. They could've done better. The most annoying character in the movie was Ray (the boss). He made the movie a pain to sit through and I think he shouldn't have survived. The "nicer" guy should have, like it's the norm in movies.

Movie Preview:
Ahhh, the good ol’ “killer car” sub-genre. How we (kinda) love it. But for every example like Steven Spielberg’s Duel or John Carpenter’s Christine, we eventually get something really dumb like Maximum Overdrive or Trucks, both of which are based on a Stephen King short story. Of course you’ll always find some fans of The Car (1977) or The Wraith (1986), and of course there are dozens of similar titles floating around — but let’s face it: this is a silly concept. “A driverless car that kills people” isn’t much of a plot, and while a few filmmakers have found a way to make the concept, well, less stupid, in most cases we’re just stuck waiting for stupid movie characters to walk out on the street and get run over.
Spielberg (and Richard Matheson) kept it cool by never showing the inside of the malevolent truck, whereas Carpenter (and King) drew a parallel between a haunted automobile and a teenage misfit who is slowly losing his mind. Clever enough. So you either explain the car or you do not. Either way is potentially dull and/or silly.

Movie Story:
A suburban couple decide to shake up their marriage by "swinging" with another couple.

Movie Review:
A charming film, with some naughty bits.,
19 June 2011
This movie has some really funny moments, considerable charm, and a nice sensibility, all too rare in most modern British films.
If you are married (or have ever been in a relationship of more than five minutes), you will be able to identify with the Finkels' problems and be amused by the varied and intriguing solutions they come up with to add some spice to their ailing sex life. There is also a nice contrast with the other main couple and we see how both couples deal with the same problem in rather different ways.
The unusual locations in London were used to great effect and the art direction was excellent.
PS: After watching this film cucumbers will always make you smile.
There were places where it was amusing but, broadly, this was a misfire with an identity crisis.

Here's the trailer for the indie comedy Swinging With The Finkels. It starts the adorable Martin Freeman and Mandy Moore. They play a married couple in the throws of the "blah-dom" of marriage. Of course, like any average couple, they equate the reason for their stale marriage ends up being sexual so they decide to swing. Personally, I think swing sets cure everything- wait, is that not the swinging they're talking about?

Hollywood Movie Brighton Rock 2011 Watch Online Trailer Review Cast And Crew

Movie Story:
An adaptation of Graham Greene's classic novel about a small-town hood who marries a waitress who witnessed him murdering a rival thug in order to keep her quiet. As his gang begins to doubt his abilities, the man becomes more desperate and violent.
Charts the headlong fall of Pinkie, a razor-wielding disadvantaged teenager with a religious death wish.

Movie Plot Summary:
With the aesthetics of a British gangster flick and the soul of classic film noir, screenwriter Rowan Joffe's debut feature BRIGHTON ROCK tells the story of Pinkie, an ambitious teenage gangster who will stop at nothing to make a name for himself in Britain's sinister world of organized crime. His aspirations are nearly derailed when Rose, a naïve local waitress, stumbles upon evidence linking him to a revenge killing. To keep his alibi alive, Pinkie seduces Rose, weaving a chilling web of deception and passion, violence and love. Set in the picturesque seaside resort of Brighton, England, the film updates Graham Greene's iconic 1939 novel to 1964-at the height of Britain's Mods and Rockers riots-and stars the sexy, up-and-coming British pair Sam Riley (CONTROL, ON THE ROAD), in a performance of intense cunning and charm, and Andrea Riseborough (MADE IN DAGENHAM and the upcoming W.E. directed by Madonna) as the young couple. Veterans Helen Mirren and John Hurt co-star as friends who set out to protect Rose from Pinkie and the dangerous world she is quickly falling into. Rowan Jaffe's first feature is a triumph, perfectly capturing Graham Greene's violent and sexually daring masterpiece

Movie Review:
Why Make This Again?,
15 March 2011
I went to see this version of Brighton Rock with my mum. She was keen to see how it matched up to the original Boulting Brothers film with Richard Attenborough. She and I were both disappointed.
I was actually really rather bored for the first half and wanted to run out of the cinema screaming. It seemed to take for ever to get going.
There were no characters I could empathise with. Rose who falls for bad boy Pinkie seemed too dim and snivelling to care about and Pinkie had so little charm I couldn't care less what happened to him. The actor Sam Riley's maturity (around 30)was against him playing the role of Pinkie, who I realised long into the film was meant to be in his teens.
I thought that, perhaps the story, wasn't for me.... My mum kept on that it wasn't as good as the "classic" original. So I thought I'd find out for myself and got hold of a DVD. Was she right? Yes. Although by no means perfect it had a robust sense of what it was: a British noir gangster film. Set in 1940s, shot in stark black and white it was gritty and hard and menacing.
Whereas the look and feel of this version seemed to be at odds with the subject matter. In it's attempt to be lavish, this production, up-dated to the 60s seemed at times too clean and shiny. On the other hand, at other times it was unrealistically grubby : Rose's home - a 60s socail housing tower block, which would in reality have been spanking new, was dressed down to look disgustingly filthy and run down.

Part heist picture, part farce, part whodunit, and all frantic genre exercise for its own sake, Flypaper builds off the hooky premise of two simultaneous bank robberies. One group of thieves is of the Hans Gruber-in-Die-Hard variety, high-tech and professional, with fancy steel-cased laptops, helmets with night-vision goggles, and enough firepower to blast their way through any barricade. The other are a pair of redneck, smash-and-grab types who appear deep into the 600s on a list of Most Wanted for Grand Larceny. Written by Scott Moore and Jon Lucas, the team responsible for The Hangover, Flypaper mingles these two parties with the bank staff, but the sprawling ensemble yields to a story that’s so heavily worked-over, it doesn’t get much of a chance to breathe. Everything and everyone acts as cogs in a relentless plot machine that keeps twisting and twisting like an annoying little gizmo on Christmas morning.
Near closing time, bank teller Ashley Judd deals with one last customer, played by Patrick Dempsey, a Rain Man type who wants his $100 bill broken down into quirky permutations of quarters, dimes, and nickels. Meanwhile, two heist jobs develop around them: The high-tech crew, led by Mekhi Phifer, wants to penetrate the vault; the rednecks, played by Tim Blake Nelson and Pruitt Taylor Vince, want to blow up the ATMs and walk away with whatever cash goes unscorched. Dempsey works out a truce between the dueling thieves, but his overactive mind—which suggests ADD, OCD, autism, and the absence of medication—brings out his inner Columbo, and his amateur sleuthing puts Judd and her co-workers in danger.

Hollywood Movie Amigo 2011 Watch Online Trailer Review Cast And Crew

 Movie Story:
AMIGO, the 17th feature film from Academy Award-nominated writer-director John Sayles, stars legendary Filipino actor Joel Torre as Rafael, a village mayor caught in the murderous crossfire of the Philippine-American War. When U.S. troops occupy his village, Rafael comes under pressure from a tough-as-nails officer (Chris Cooper) to help the Americans in their hunt for Filipino guerilla fighters. But Rafael's brother (Ronnie Lazaro) is the head of the local guerillas, and considers anyone who cooperates with the Americans to be a traitor. Rafael quickly finds himself forced to make the impossible, potentially deadly decisions faced by ordinary civilians in an occupied country. A powerful drama of friendship, betrayal, romance and heartbreaking violence, AMIGO is a page torn from the untold history of the Philippines, and a mirror of today's unresolvable conflicts.

Movie Reviews:
The Tragedy of Getting Caught in the Crossfire
7 July 2011 | by 3xHCCH (Quezon City, Philippines)
It is always difficult to tackle a war on film equally and fairly. Each side has its own interests to protect and uphold. Everyone regards the other as an enemy against them. There will be losses from all sides, direct and collateral. Yet, in the end, no one really wins. In "Amigo" by veteran director John Sayles, attempts to show all sides of a multi- dimensional conflict that was the Philippine-American War.
The film brings us back to the turn of the previous century, 1900, when Spain just ceded the Philippines to the USA. A group of young American soldiers under former architect Lt. Compton (Garrett Dillahunt) take control of a remote village called San Isidro. Trying to maintain some semblance of normalcy in his hostaged neighborhood was the barrio captain Rafael Dacanay (Joel Torre). There was also the Spanish friar Padre Hidalgo who continues his churchly mission, while interpreting for the Americans. On the other front, we have the Filipino revolutionaries who camp out in the jungle, led by Rafael's brother Simon (Ronnie Lazaro).
So we can see here a complicated web of intersecting conflicts that Sayles weaved for us. This was presented in a way that the audience can see the way each of these groups thought. The dialog went from English to Tagalog to Spanish and the occasional Chinese, so everything was seemingly told "in their own words." It will be very interesting how this movie will be viewed by audiences represented by the involved parties. While the story had a slow progression at the start, by the time it reached the climactic scenes, the suspense and tension was electric. The ending though was a bit awkward in my opinion. But definitely, the audience, especially the Filipinos, will identify with the conflicts within the tragic character of Rafael, who was caught between keeping the peace in his barrio, and his brother's cause for Filipino independence.

(August 19, 2011)
Oscar-nominated filmmaker John Sayles dusted off an obscure part of American (and Filipino) history in making his latest film “Amigo,” set in the Philippines amidst the backdrop of U.S. occupation following the defeat of the country’s long-time colonial overlord, Spain. The drama follows a group of U.S. troops who occupy the small jungle hamlet. Under pressure from a stalwart officer, played by Chris Cooper, to help the Americans hunt for Filipino guerrilla fighters, the town’s defacto leader, Rafael (Joel Torre) is placed in a particularly odd situation because his brother (Ronnie Lazaro) leads the local insurgency and considers anyone who cooperates with the Americans to be a traitor. Rafael faces off a no-win situation, making potentially deadly decisions.
In a recent conversation with indieWIRE, Sayles talks about how he became enthralled with this little known part of history through writing his recent book, “A Moment in the Sun,” its parallels with U.S. expeditions overseas today, filming in the Philippines and why Hollywood and network news aren’t necessarily obligated to tell an accurate story.

Movie Review:
Amazing Cinematic Achievement,
By Janelle Eagle
I saw this film at Outfest 2011 and was blown away not only by the film's quality of visual and emotional impact, but also the amazing achievement that the artists have made by getting this story told in the first place. The international cast and crew have each taken big risks by telling this gripping story about two young women in love in Iran.
Our audience at the screening was struck by the POSITIVE and FUN images of Iranian youth- excited, energetic, comedic, brave. Very much in contrast with what the media tells us Tehran "looks like." The two female leads are incredibly stunning and give amazing performances. They say more with their eyes than paragraphs or monologues would need to convey. Their chemistry is palpable and the brief but urgent love scenes make any audience member root for their success.
The Director, Maryam Keshavarz, is talented, well-spoken, has a clear and distinct voice and is someone to watch.

It is written and directed by first time director, Parvin Dabas, who puts his own unique modern spin on a contemporary and original Indian story.

Movie Review:
By: Shubha Shetty-Saha
Date: 2011-08-20
Can a small film with a good intention, be automatically dubbed as a good film? Obviously not. Unfortunately, Parvin Dabas's directorial debut falls under a great intention but a so-so film category. An interesting title and a sensitive actor's debut direction ups the expectations for this movie. However, it isn't as exciting as it could have been.
Rajbir (Dabas), Doctor (Ruhil), Ambani (Nair) and Sexy (Bharadwaj) are petty criminals working for the local don, Fauji (Saxena). The villagers are protesting their land being taken by industrialist Agarwal (Kher), who has full support from the Chief Minister (Juneja). Rajbir and his gang have a change of heart and they decide to help the villagers even when they have been instructed by Fauji to use their criminal tactics to stop them from protesting. An interesting plot, where Rajbir hoodwinks the Fauji leading him to think that he is against the villagers, while constantly lending his support to them.
