It looks like Jeeva is having a great year ahead of him. 2011 is expected to have atleast four of his flicks hitting screens that include Ko, Singam Puli, Vandhaan Vendran and Roudram. The actor has completed shooting for K.V. Anand"s Ko that features him in the role of a photo journalist. Yesteryear actress Radha"s daughter Karthika and Piaa Bajpai have starred opposite him in female lead roles.
The other film Singam Puli features him in dual role with Divya Spandana and Honey Rose as his pair. Since Jeeva enacts dual roles, the makers are taking scrupulous strain over processing the post production works with top-notching graphics. Vandhan Vendran is a crime thriller set in backdrops of Mumbai, in which Jeeva plays the role of a professional boxer while Delhi based hottie Taapsee will be his ladylove.

Movie Review:
An action thriller which doesn't showcase much physical action. A protagonist who single-handedly takes on the vicious nexus of politicians, the mafia, high-ranking police officers and street goons. A hero who is hands-on with media reports and political scandals and delivers punch-lines. A hero who is upright, for whose dedication dear ones pays, sometimes even with their lives, leading to a no-holds-barred hunt for the bad guys.

Varun Sandesh, who is in the middle of drug controversy, could not have liked to hear this news, as Shraddha Das has admitted that they were in love before. She has claimed that it was a short-lived relationship and they have parted ways.
Speaking to a leading daily, Shraddha Das has said that they were in love for some time but it all got ended three months ago. The actress, who was open about their friendship, was heart broken after he reportedly ditched her for his Brahmigadi Katha co-star Asmita Sood. As a result, she has come to conclusion that in the entertainment industry love does not long last.

When a film title quotes 'a film by Prakash Jha', it is inevitable that the film will have a plenty of food for thought. After delivering films like Damul, Mrityudand, Gangaajal, Apaharan and Raajneeti, there is definitely high expectations from Jha's upcoming Aarakshan. Like others Aarakshan also deals with a serious issue of caste-based reservation in the society. The film also goes on to talk about the commercialization of educational institutions.

Aarakshan portrays the torment that the youth goes through, who believe in equal rights, still continues to follow the caste-based society. Prakash through Aarakshan ventures to untouched themes of Indian Cinema, caste-based reservations in government jobs and educational institutions.

Aarakshan tells the story of Prabhakar Anand (Amitabh Bachchan), an idealistic principal of a college that has turned out to be state's best, solely through his efforts. It is the story of his loyal disciple, Deepak Kumar (Saif Ali Khan) who can do anything for him. Aarakshan speaks about Deepak's love for Prabhakar's daughter Poorbi (Deepika Padukone) and about his friendship with Sushant (Prateik). Aarakshan based on a controversial issue promises you a rollercoster ride full of high drama, conflict and rebellion. It shows the test of love, friendship and loyalty towards Prabhakar Anand.

Plus Points
Prakash Jha is one among those filmmakers who can even drive audience to watch a film based on practical social matters. Be it Raajneeti or Aarakshan, Jha has always delivered the harsh realities through his cinema. Aarakshan bang on hits to point that it wants to deliver, caste based politics, gender bias, commercialization of educational, etc. Though initially one will take time to comprehend what's going on, as the film has multiple characters being introduced and there are several plots running simultaneously, but things fall into places as the story proceeds.

The first hour of the film is impactful, while the second half comes across as a mixed bag. Handing two important societal issues in one film is not an easy job, Jha has brilliantly tackled the plot delivering an accurate Aarakshan. One relates to the subject of Aarakshan instantly as it is picked from the real life, every family is genuinely concerned about the education and job of their child.

The conflict between Amitabh Bachchan and Manoj Bajpayee in particular is shown brilliantly and leaves a a solid impression. An issue-based film rarely gets scope for music (Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy), and Aarakshan was no different. However, Jha has weaved the songs smartly in the narrative of the film. Like any other Jha's film Aarakshan too has hard-hitting dialogue (Anjum Rajabali). Sachin Krishn's cinematography is top class.

Loopholes
Though the conflict between Amitabh and Manoj is well presented, the narrative tends to get lengthy and a tad uninteresting and repetitive towards the second hour of the film. The sequences when Amitabh, Deepika, Saif and even Prateik start conducting classes and educating the students, dilute the impact generated by the first hour. Even the part of the film when the government officials and commoners confront, though well executed, could've been more impactful. In short, the excessive length of the film will act is a loophole for the film.

Performance
The Principal's role was written after keeping Amitabh Bachchan in mind. In Aarakshan, the actor gives a completely new dimension to his character as a Principal. It requires great courage to cast Saif Ali Khan in the role, but he comes across brilliantly. The actor carries of his character outstandingly. His Shudh Hindi diction is perfect. Deepika Padukone also plays a challenging part, but his confident portrayal of the character comes clearly.

Manoj Bajpayee is remarkable in his negative character of a person who treats education as a business. Prateik needs to loosen up a little bit. Tanvi Azmi is first-rate. Mukesh Tiwari is top notch. Yashpal Sharma, Darshan Jariwala, Saurabh Shukla, Chetan Pandit, Vinay Apte are perfect. Anita Kanwar and S.M. Zaheer are alright. Hema Malini appears towards the end of the film.

Over All
On the whole, Aarakshan tells an engaging story with very characters taken directly from the real life. Though the film is convincing, but the running time to almost 2.45 hours may be irritating. Aarakshan works as a film that delivers a forceful message. Don't miss it!

Actor Amitabh Bachchan expresses his disappointment over the ongoing protest surrounding the release of his film Aarakshan. The megastar says that the way creative freedom is being curbed one might be living in a 'most unfortunate fascist conditioning'. Mr. Bachchan, who has been cautious about his views on reservation is unhappy with the politics surrounding the movie.

"An artist, a creative person does not further the cause of politics. He or she furthers the cause of creative expression. If creative expression is to be curbed by institutes that wish to dictate their terms and conditions above the conditions of the legal recognized constitutional formats, democratically accepted and converted into law by the highest authorities of legality, then we might as well accept that we live not in the sanctity of the tenets of democracy but a most unfortunate fascist conditioning," Bachchan wrote on his blog.

Amitabh views that display of creativity should be kept away from political pressure. The actor says that it is high time that film fraternity stands up to protest its interests. "Why does not the film fraternity of India and more so of Mumbai, have a force or body that stands up and protects its own under attack on occasion from groups that take objection to the very spirit of the freedom of expression, inscribed so prominently and decisively in our revered Constitution," Bachchan said.

"Why whenever we are at the stage of bringing our heads above the cacophony of the world with its myriad issues, to perhaps simply breathe, do forces that seek resentment attempt to strangulate us," He added.

Amitabh plays the role of a college principal in Prakash Jha's Aarakshan. The actor slammed the ban on the film's release in Uttar Pradesh and Punjab government on the grounds that a few scenes and dialogues in the film may cause law and order problem. The film also stars actor Saif Ali Khan, Manoj Bajpayee, Deepika Padukone and Prateik Babbar in the leading role.

“I don't think anyone will mind if I say that it is very different working with older heroes because the age difference is of about 20 years, and just about two to three years with the younger heroes with who you can even do nonsense on the sets. For instance, Imran would come on the sets, he would kick me playfully...at times there would be nothing constructive what we were doing..there is so much bachpana..,” Times of India quotes the actress as saying.

She admitted that she is not close to Shahrukh and the idea of sharing screen space with him makes her nervous. “I don't know what it will be like working with Shahrukh but I have heard that he makes his heroines very comfortable which is good. A court in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, on Tuesday, directed actor Salman Khan to appear before it on September 20th till the verdict of the court is decided regarding his appeal against his conviction in Chinkara (Black Buck) poaching case. The actor family is shocked with this sudden development as he is under tight schedule presently and has at least 150 crores riding on him in next two months.

On February 17, 2006, Salman was sentenced to one year imprisonment for hunting and killing two Chinkaras in Bhawad village near Jodhpur on September 26, 1998 during the shooting of Hum Saath Saath Hain. The other actors accused in the case included actors like Saif Ali Khan, Sonali Bendre, Neelam Kothari, Tabu and Satish Shah were acquitted.

On April 10, 2006, Salman was sentenced to five year of jail for hunting the endangered Chinkara. He was remanded to Jodhpur jail, and remained there until April 13 when he was granted bail. On August 24, 2007, the Jodhpur sessions court upheld the 5 year jail term for Khan by turning down his appeal against the 2006 judgment.

At the time of hearing Salman was busy shooting elsewhere, while his sister attended the proceedings. The court had found Salman guilty under Section 51 of the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972. After his conviction, the actor spent three nights in Jodhpur Central Jail before the District and Sessions court gave him bail. Salman then filed an appeal against the conviction on March 9, 2006 challenging his conviction under the Wild Life Protection Act by the chief judicial magistrate on February 17, 2006. The court will now regularly hear the case from September 20.
Bollywood Hungama sources report that Salman's lawyer is filing an appeal for exemption and might even go to a higher court with the plea.

Series Summary:
Suhana is the lovely, spirited daughter of Kamal Kumar Bajpai. She hails from a palatial house with a plethora of servants to service her cravings. Having lost her mother at a very young age, she grows up as a very lonely person. Despite his best efforts, Kamal Kumar Bajpai is not able to give his daughter enough time. Denied a mother’s love and a father’s attention, Suhana has grown up to have a legendary temper. But equally legendary is her kindness. Everyone who has seen her grow up – her family, her servants and her friends – know her to be an honest, upright person, never shying away from calling a spade a spade. Unfortunately, Suhana loses in that most complicated game of all, love. In a flick of instinctive defiance, she agrees to marry whoever her father decides for her.

Ishaan on the other hand is a gentle, good natured IT professional. Surprisingly, for a person whose career is on the rise, he does not have a girlfriend...he asks his family members to look for a bride for him. As one girl after another rejects him, he gives up and decides that he will marry whosoever they decide is a proper match for him. They decide on Suhana. Thus, Suhana and Ishaan are wed.

But the marriage starts on a disastrous note. Suhana, who is raw from a recent break up, makes it clear to Ishaan that she is not in love with him. Epitomising the nice guy that he is, he decides to give her time for her wounds to heal. And then, something happens to Suhana. Whether it is the power of the marriage mantras or the ritual of living under the same roof, a magic happens. It starts with inconsequential things - choosing a shirt for him; packing his tiffin; or personally picking the flowers Ishaan likes best. Suhana slowly begins to discover her husband. Each new day, she discovers a new facet of her husband. Each new day makes Ishaan more endearing to Suhana. And before she knows it, she has fallen in love with him – a love which is deep and solid; a love that will truly stand the test of time.
