However, it's Adam (Peter Krause), the oldest Braverman sibling, who has had to relinquish his expectations about what constitutes a "normal" family, as he, his quietly forceful wife Kristina (Monica Potter) and independent-minded teenage daughter Haddie (Sarah Ramos), struggle to cope with their eccentric son and Haddie's little brother Max (Max Burkholder), who has Asperger's Syndrome. Although each sibling and family has its own share of everyday challenges to grapple with, they still manage to be there for each other in their hours of need.

The third season of the American television series Parenthood officially premiered on September 13, 2011. This season will consist of 18 episodes. Parenthood was renewed for an third season by NBC on May 12, 2011. This season of Parenthood is set to only have 16 episodes to make way for the new NBC drama Awake in mid-season. However, on September 29, 2011, NBC ordered two more episodes of Parenthood bringing this seasons total to 18 episodes. Parenthood is an American comedy-drama television series developed by Jason Katims and produced by Imagine Television and Universal Media Studios, which debuted on NBC on March 2, 2010. Loosely based on the 1989 film of the same title, it is also the second television series based on the film to air, the first airing was during the 1990–91 television season. Katims is also the executive producer, showrunner, and head writer. The show revolves around the Braverman family, which has expanded to three generations, featuring patriarch Zeek Braverman and matriarch Camille Braverman, their oldest son Adam, his wife and three children, their daughter Sarah and her two children, their second son Crosby, his ex-girlfriend Jasmine and their young son Jabbar, and finally their daughter Julia, her husband and her young daughter. The series is set in Berkeley, California and the San Francisco Bay Area, but is filmed primarily in Southern California.
Storyline:
A family tree with Zeke (Craig T. Nelson) and Camille Braverman (Bonnie Bedelia), serving as the patriarch and matriarch. After forty six years of marriage, they've managed to keep their foundation intact by burying their problems underneath the surface for the sake of their, now adult, children. Adam (Peter Krause) is the first born and the ripest apple the tree has to offer. He runs a sneaker corporation, has a supportive wife, two children (boy and girl) and a beautiful home to share with them. He's a dog short of "The American Dream". Sarah (Lauren Graham), is the unstable daughter returning home at thirty-eight years of age with her rebellious daughter and sensitive son to live with Zeke and Camille. Crosby (Dax Shepard), is a happy-go-lucky bachelor living in the now, on a docked boat. He has no idea that his frivolous life is about to change tremendously. Then there is Julia (Erika Christensen)...
Episode Summary:
Kristina exhausts herself by diving back into supermom mode while Adam and Crosby prepare their new music studio, in hopes of impressing their first potential client, Cee Lo Green. Meanwhile, Zeek plants doubts in Julia and Joel's adoption plan and Drew takes advice from Amber to move forward with Amy. Meanwhile, Mark Cyr continues to feel uneasy with Seth's involvement in Sarah's life.
