needing to turn around their fortunes at the ground. The Killie will be
hoping to improve upon a record which has seen them lose 52 and win
only 19 of the 97 games.
The most recent encounter between these two sides at Dens Park was just last season, in January 2012, where the two sides shared the spoils courtesy of a 1-1 final scoreline in a Scottish F.A. Cup The sides have only met once so far this season on the opening day when they played out a goal less draw.
Both sides are still looking for their first win of the new year with Killie following a 1-1 draw with St. Mirren up with a 3-2 defeat to Dundee United last weekend.
We spoke to manager Barry Smith ahead of this weekends visit of Killie and he told us he is looking forward to it, “Definitely (looking forward to it), especially after what was a good performance at Easter Road last weekend, we were nice and positive and we want to bring that form back to Dens.
The draw with Hibs saw Dundee start with an attacking formation and asked if he will follow it up with a similar set up this week, Barry told us “We've played with four forwards before so there wasn't much difference. It worked for us last week and we'll try be as positive as we can be when we come back to Dens.”
Friday saw the completion of the transfer of Gary Harkins on a permanent basis from Killie to Dundee. As part of the deal between the two clubs, Gary will not feature this weekend. Asked about further transfer activity, the manager told us, “We are talking to a number of players and it's just about bringing the right people in at the right price.”
One injury doubt for Dundee going into the game is Nicky Riley who missed the draw at Easter Road with a calf injury.
