Season five officially began on December 12, 2010 on Adult Swim, with "Robot Chicken's DP Christmas Special and will contain a total of twenty episodes. The first of the 20 episodes are set to air the first of the official Season 5 episodes on January 9 and the second group of episodes are set to air sometime around October 2011. Robot Chicken is a sketch comedy that parodies a number of pop culture conventions using stop motion animation of toys, action figures, and claymation (usually for special effects) and various other objects, such as tongue depressors,The Game of Life pegs and popsicle sticks during a joke about loss of budget. The show's name was inspired by a dish on the menu at a West Hollywood Chinese restaurant, Kung Pao Bistro, where Green and Senreich had dined, although the series originally was intended to be titled "Junk in the Trunk"....
