Some time during this season, about 14 episodes in, SpongeBob SquarePants will overtake Rugrats as the longest running Nicktoon (in terms of number of episodes in which Rugrats had 172 episodes and SpongeBob currently has 166). According to the Season 8 description of SpongeBob on iTunes, Bubble Buddy (from season 2; "Bubble Buddy Returns") will return for a visit, there will be another official Halloween episode ("Ghoul Fools"), and SpongeBob and friends will go on vacations ("A SquarePants Family Vacation"). SpongeBob SquarePants (often referred to simply as SpongeBob) is an American animated television series, created by marine biologist and animator Stephen Hillenburg. In the institute, he made his thesis film Wormholes (1992), which led to his hiring as a director, writer, producer, storyboard artist, and executive producer of the series Rocko's Modern Life by creator Joe Murray. He started to develop the series in 1996 following Rocko's Modern Life's, and pitched the series to Nickelodeon in 1998 and was later greenlit for a first season...
Storyline:
The character-driven toon chronicles the nautical and sometimes nonsensical adventures of SpongeBob, an incurably optimistic and earnest sea sponge, and his undersea friends. Dwelling a few fathoms beneath the tropical isle of Bikini Atoll in the sub-surface city of Bikini Bottom, SpongeBob lives in a two-story pineapple. Instead of taking the logical approach to everyday challenges, SpongeBob approaches life in a wayward and unconventional way. Whether searching for the ultimate spatula to perfect his burger flipping technique at the Krusty Krab, or just hanging out with his best friend Patrick (an amiable starfish), SpongeBob's good intentions and overzealous approach to life usually create chaos in his underwater world.
Episode Summary:
The Flying Dutchman returns to Bikini Bottom, finds SpongeBob, and tells him of treasure hidden in an abandoned and haunted house, but warns him of a terrible ghost named the Lord Poltergeist who haunts the house. So SpongeBob, Patrick, Mr. Krabs and Squidward go to visit the haunted house.
