Season Info:
The Colbert Report is a list of all episodes of The Colbert Report, a Comedy Central show hosted by Stephen Colbert, during the year 2011. Each episode is executive produced by Colbert and Jon Stewart, and co-executive produced by Meredith Bennett, Richard Dahm, and Tom Purcell. Colbert plays the role of a populist blowhard journalist character, similar to his character from when he was on The Daily Show. In The Colbert Report, the former correspondent becomes the host of his own parody of media pundit programs, such as The O'Reilly Factor and Hannity. There are a number of noteworthy recurring elements in most episodes of The Colbert Report. Among them, the most common is "The Wørd", a segment based on a word (real or constructed by the Colbert writing staff) or phrase which serves as a theme for a monologue. Many episodes begin with Colbert providing a joke-based summary of the topics covered within the episode prior to the opening titles; this summary ends with an introductory phrase which gives an example of the Colbert character's twisted logic or values. Finally, each episode contains at least one in-studio guest interview, though sometimes more. In the case of musicians, the final segment is given over to a musical performance by said guest. The Colbert Report (pronounced /koʊlˈbɛər rəˈpɔr/ kohl-bair rə-por – the t is silent in both "Colbert" and "Report") is an American satirical late night television program that airs Monday through Thursday on Comedy Central. It stars political humorist Stephen Colbert, a former correspondent for The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. The Colbert Report is a spin-off from and counterpart to The Daily Show that comments on politics and the media in a similar way. It satirizes conservative personality-driven political pundit programs, particularly Fox News's The O'Reilly Factor. The show focuses on a fictional anchorman character named Stephen Colbert, played by his real-life namesake. The character, described by Colbert as a "well-intentioned, poorly informed, high-status idiot", is a caricature of televised political pundits...

An, offshoot of The Daily Show, The Colbert Report (the Ts in Colbert and in Report are silent) is a parody of shows like "The O'Reilly Factor." Colbert begins the show with teasers about the show's content and then the credits go by, with a giant eagle and the stars and stripes featured predominantly. Colbert will pepper commentaries with phrases like, "Look, I don't have time to read books," or, "President Bush isn't a head thinker, he's a gut thinker." Aspects of talking head programs are exaggerated and Colbert presents a host overwhelmed by his own importance. Guests do not walk on-stage but are seated at a small table to the side. Colbert runs over to them, encouraging the audience to applaud and high five him as he passes. He is then likely to begin an interview by asking a guest something like, "Explain evolution in 20 seconds,"...
