The CSI team members also work closely with Captain Jim Brass, a seasoned detective and protector of CSI, sometimes to a fault; Dr. Albert Robbins, the ever-professional medical examiner; his wise-cracking assistant, David Phillips; and David Hodges, a tech of many talents who often rubs people the wrong way, but never fails to deliver.

The twelfth season of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation began on September 21, 2011, on CBS. The show now airs on Wednesdays at 10/9c, following Criminal Minds. Laurence Fishburne will not return for Season 12. He will be replaced by actor Ted Danson. Elisabeth Harnois will also join the cast as Morgan Brody, the daughter of Conrad Ecklie. Marg Helgenberger will leave the cast in January 2012. Three suspects come forward with three different reasons why they killed an entire family and the CSI team has to determine who is telling the truth. Recurring characters: Marc Vann as Conrad Ecklie and Larry Mitchell as Officer Mitchell.
