The Dirty Picture director, Milan Luthria says that Vidya Balan's classic Indian look combined with her voluptuous body makes her the perfect choice to depict late Southern Siren Silk Smitha on screen.
Milan Luthria, who thinks that Vidya has given a soul to the character of Silk Smitha said that the decision to have Vidya portray the role of South siren was taken after much thought and debate.
Vidya Balan, who is known for her grace and class seems to have already been accepted by the audience in her new and 'bold' avatar. Vidya's sensuous body display in the first trailer of The Dirty Picture is already being appreciated by the public.
Luthria said that they wanted a strong performer, and not just someone who looked merely hot and sexy. Speaking to a leading newspaper, director of The Dirty Picture said, “Vidya has the body of a classic voluptuous Indian beauty, something not many Bollywood actresses can boast of. Silk was never pencil thin.”
