Despite failing to score in his last nine games, Marouane Chamakh is likely to start again as neither Cameron Jerome nor Dwight Gayle have suggested they can do any better.
Fellow summer signings Jimmy Kebe, Jason Puncheon, Barry Bannan and Jerome Thomas have failed to score or create enough chances for others. The defence has come under too much pressure at the other end and has rarely coped sufficiently.
It's a former Palace boss that's standing in their way this weekend. Twelve years ago, Steve Bruce controversially quit his post at Selhurst Park after just five months in charge. A win will be enough to push Hull in to the top 10, but history prompts a little caution with just one victory over Palace enjoyed in their last 13 meetings.
