"People who saw the Liverpool game [a 3-0 defeat on 31 December] will have thought 'That's the end of QPR' but we came back against Chelsea and Tottenham and then went to West Ham and drew."Redknapp believes the disappointing performance of Rangers' fringe players on Saturday shows why the club must strengthen in the January transfer window. "I gave them a chance because they knock on my door and say they should be playing... well, they got their chance and they blew it." "Surely they are entitled to beat a team from two divisions down? It tells me, like I've said all along, that I need to improve the squad." Manchester City travel to Loftus Road knowing victory would see them close to within two points of leaders Manchester United, for 24 hours at least. David Silva was their match-winner in their last league game, scoring his first Premier League brace in a 2-0 victory against Fulham,The Spaniard was overdue a goal, having scored just once in 29 games for club and country since the Euro 2012 final.
His next target will be to end an away goal drought that stretches back 14 months. Loftus Road should be the ideal venue - his last City goal away from the Etihad Stadium came in a 3-2 win at QPR on 5 November 2011.

Team News:
QPR winger Shaun Wright-Phillips is doubtful because of an ankle injury, while Junior Hoilett is still struggling with a hamstring problem.

Manchester City duo Samir Nasri and Mario Balotelli return after illness, but Vincent Kompany is ruled out with a calf injury.
Fellow defender Matija Nastasic has a minor knee problem and is doubtful.
