It was later announced it would move to a new time-slot on Tuesday at 8:00pm, as a lead-in to new series, Revenge. It premiered on September 28, 2011. On November 3, 2011, ABC picked up the show for a full 22-episode second season. ABC officially renewed Happy Endings for a second season on May 13, 2011. On June 27, 2011, with the reveal of ABC 2011-12 schedule, it was announced the series would be moving to a earlier time-slot of 9:30 pm Eastern/8:30 pm Central on Tuesdays as a lead-in to new series, Revenge. On July 22, 2011, it was reported that Megan Mullally will have a recurring role in the upcoming season, playing the role of Penny's mother. Fred Savage, who has directed several episodes, will appear as himself in the Halloween episode airing in October. Sportscaster Brent Musburger will also make a cameo appearance in this episode. Other announced guests for season two include Nicole Anderson, Matt Besser, Megan Park, Ken Marino, Bobby Moynihan, Rob Riggle, Derek Waters and Larry Wilmore.
