His casual Malibu lifestyle was interrupted when his tightly wound brother, Alan, and Alan's son, Jake, came to stay with him. Complicating matters further are Charlie and Alan's narcissistic, emotionally toxic mother, Evelyn; Alan's deeply neurotic ex-wife, Judith and Charlie's domineering, unapologetically blue-collar housekeeper, Berta. Despite the complexities of their lives and their own strained relationship, Charlie and Alan have one thing in common - they both love Jake and want what's best for him. As a result, they manage to create a little family unit that promises to make each of them a better man. TWO AND A HALF MEN has been the Number One-rated sitcom on television for the past four seasons.

Season Info:
The ninth season of Two and a Half Men premiered on September 19, 2011, with Ashton Kutcher joining the cast as Charlie Sheen's replacement. This season is the first to feature a retooled plot, marking a major change in the series by focusing on Alan and Jake moving on with their lives after the death of Charlie with help from their new housemate, Walden Schmidt (Kutcher), an internet billionaire who is in the process of being divorced by his wife. Alan, Walden, and Jake eventually bond and help each other grow and overcome their losses. Two and a Half Men is an American television sitcom which premiered on CBS on September 22, 2003. Starring Jon Cryer, Ashton Kutcher, Angus T. Jones and formerly starring Charlie Sheen, the show was originally about a hedonistic jingle writer, Charlie Harper; his uptight brother, Alan; and Alan's growing son, Jake. Charlie's free-wheeling life is complicated when his brother gets divorced and moves, along with his son, into Charlie's beach-front Malibu house. The series' premise was revamped in the ninth season, focusing on Alan and Jake moving on with their lives after the death of Charlie with help from their new roommate, Walden Schmidt, who is also dealing with his own troubles following a bad divorce. The three eventually bond and help each other grow and overcome their losses. In 2011, a news article in The New York Times called it "the biggest hit comedy of the past decade." The show has ranked among the Top 20 programs every season since it first aired. There have been eight seasons of the show and at least one additional season to come. In 2010, CBS and Warner Bros. Television reached a multi-year broadcast agreement for the series, renewing it through at least the 2011–12 season. However, CBS and Warner Bros. decided to end production for the rest of the eighth season due to Sheen entering drug rehab and making disparaging comments about the show's creator and executive producer, Chuck Lorre. Sheen was fired from the show on March 7, 2011. The ninth season premiere, "Nice to Meet You, Walden Schmidt", killed off Sheen's character and introduced Ashton Kutcher as Sheen's replacement. All seasons except 5, 7 and 8 consist of 24 episodes. Season 5 was narrowed down to 19 episodes due to 2007–2008 Writers Guild of America strike. Due to Sheen's personal life problems, Season 7 was narrowed down to 22 episodes. Season 8 premiered on September 20, 2010, at 9:00 p.m. ET. CBS initially ordered 24 episodes for the season, but due to Sheen's personal life, the show was put on hiatus after 16 episodes were produced, with production scheduled to resume on February 28. After a series of comments made by Sheen on February 24, 2011, CBS and Warner Bros. cancelled the remainder of the season (episodes 17–24)...

Storyline:
The Harper brothers Charlie and Alan are almost opposites but form a great team. They have little in common except their dislike for their mundane, maternally cold and domineering mother, Evelyn. Alan, a compulsively neat chiropractor and control-freak, is thrown out by his manipulative wife Judith who nevertheless gets him to pay for everything and do most jobs in the house. Charlie is a freelance jingle composer and irresistible Cassanova who lives in a luxurious beach-house and rarely gets up before noon. Charlie "temporarily" allows Alan and his son Jake, a food-obsessed, lazy school kid who shuttles between his parents, to move in with them after Alan's separation/divorce. The sitcom revolves around their conflicting lifestyles, raising Jake (who has the efficient, caring dad while having a ball with his fun-loving sugar uncle who teaches him boyish things), and bantering with Evelyn and various other friends and family...

Episode Summary:
Walden receives divorce papers from Bridget, but forgets his depression when he meets a girl who looks eerily like her.
