New this season is a feature called the “Ballroom Battle”. Dancing with the Stars returned for its thirteenth season on September 19, 2011. Carrie Ann Inaba, Len Goodman and Bruno Tonioli returned as the judges, and Tom Bergeron and Brooke Burke Charvet returned as hosts. Twelve couples are competing in this season. Starting this season, Alan Dedicoat, the announcer, introduces Harold Wheeler and his band, after the introduction of the remaining competitors. Dancing with the Stars is a reality show airing on ABC in the United States, and CTV in Canada in 2011. The show is the American version of the British BBC television series Strictly Come Dancing. Tom Bergeron is the host. His co-hosts have changed several times over the seasons. In the first season, the co-host was Lisa Canning. E! reporter Samantha Harris co-hosted from seasons two through nine. Model and Season 7 champion, Brooke Burke Charvet, took over as co-host beginning with Season 10 in 2010. The contestant pairs consist of a celebrity paired with a professional dancer. Past celebrity contestants include professional and Olympic athletes, supermodels, actors, singers, an astronaut, and teen-heartthrobs. Each couple performs predetermined dances and competes against the others for judges' points and audience votes. The couple receiving the lowest combined total of judges' points and audience votes is eliminated each week until only the champion dance pair remains.....
