Synopsis:
Iti Srikanta,Bengali film dubbed into Tamil and released in the name of \'Ilavarasi\' . Reema Sen has acted very glamorously in the Bedroom scenes in this film, which created huge stir.
This film is about a girl being sold by her Parents to a Landlord for money, due to Poverty problems. Later, she is named as Daasi by the Landlord and made into Prostitute who has Sex with males for the sake of money. In a particular stage, she starts to hate the life of Prostitute, and likes to lead the life of a normal girl, by getting married with her favorite guy. Whether she succeeds in her desire or not, is the crux of the story. This film won 2 awards, one for Sound Effects and another one was for the Art Direction.

Reema Sen's Ilavarasi, a dubbed version of Bengali movie Iti Srikantha, has drawn the attention the mass audience. It is because of the semi-pornographic posters and dare bare scenes of her in the film. However, she denies doing such scenes and claims that those snaps are doctored.
Speaking to a leading daily, Reema Sen says that she is heading for a legal battle against those, who are spreading those images and promoting the movie as a porn film. “I will take legal action against them. There’s nothing pornographic about it! They are distorting the film.” The Times of India quoted the actress as saying.
She further adds that it was a National Award-winning film. She does not understand why the movie is being dubbed in Tamil after seven years. The posters of Reema Sen lying down blouse less on a bed and a frontal picture, which are doing rounds on internet, are fake, claims the Aayirathil Oruvan actress.
The story of the movie is about a man, who is torn between two women. It is based on the novel written by Saratchandra Chatterjee.
