Maryada is created by a joint effort by DJ's Creative Unit and Star Plus. The channel and production house are presently shooting at Kalka and Chandigarh, for the first time on Indian Television. For the first time on Indian Television, the shoots on the busy streets of Kalka, Railway stations of Chandigarh and Kalka, Mansadevi temple near Kalka, will be shown.
We hear that, the popular playback singer, Kavita Krishnamurthy and Krishna of Chak De fame, have sung for the title track of the show. The show is said to be loosely inspired from the Desperate Housewives. Maryada is said to be a bold show, and is expected to get a late night slot of 11.30 pm.
Storylines:
It is the story of four women of the Jakhar family (Devyani, Uttara, Vidya & Priya), who strive hard to bind their family and nurture the relationships but down the line lose their voice, self-respect and dignity to paint a perfect picture of their family. The four women appear to have perfect lives, but in reality are silently living the dark truths of their family. Maryaada... Lekin Kab Tak? voices STAR PLUS belief, ‘Rishta Wahi Soch Nayi’ as it will encourage women to speak-up when it comes to their own self respect. The show brings a wide array of emotions as the journey of these four women to restore their values and maryaada, is full of trials and tribulations, betrayal and deceit. Amidst all the pain and deceit, unfolds the romance of Aditya and Priya, but is not free from the dark shadows of Priya’s past.

This show is about the life of four women and how they tolerate all the happenings to keep the family tied. Set in Haryana, a bold family drama about the lives of four women of the Jhaakar family and the darker realities of their relationships that lie beneath the surface. The story is about how these four women (Devyani, Uttara, Vidya & Priya) manoeuvre themselves in this seemingly perfect family, but have serious skeletons in the cupboard that could become ugly for this family.
The show dramatizes the facades, the unrest and challenges they face in order to safeguard their relationships in this family . It traces journey of these four women, which is full of trials & tribulations, lies, deceit & betrayal to achieve their ultimate aim of restoring lost faith & values back into their family, keeping in mind never to break their Maryaada. But for the sake of same Maryaada… how they will have to break their silence!!!
