Last Man Standing is an American television sitcom starring Tim Allen and Nancy Travis that currently airs on ABC. The series premiered on October 11, 2011. This is the second sitcom Allen starred on for ABC, the first being Home Improvement, which ran from 1991 to 1999. The series follows Mike Baxter, a director of marketing at an outdoor sporting goods store in Colorado, whose world is dominated by women -- especially at home with his wife and three daughters, one of whom is a single mother. At the end of March, Nancy Travis joined the cast in the leading female role as Allen's "smart and loving wife who doesn’t miss much". Soon thereafter, Héctor Elizondo came on board in a supporting role as the boss to Allen's character. On May 13, 2011, ABC picked up the pilot for the 2011–2012 television season under the new title Last Man Standing. On May 17, 2011, ABC announced that the series would air on Tuesday nights at 8/7 Central. It debuted on October 11, 2011 with the first two episodes airing as one-hour premiere. Season Summary:
Today it's a woman's world, and this man's man is on a mission to get men back to their rightful place in society. Men may have built civilizations, invented the locomotive and created ESPN, but they're about to find out that it's not a man's world anymore.You can't get manlier than Mike Baxter (Tim Allen). He's the marketing director for an iconic outdoor sporting goods store, he loves to have adventures while he's traveling for work and, of course, he drives a pick-up truck. While Mike is king of the hill at work, he's the odd man out in a home that is dominated by women -- namely his wife, Vanessa, and their three daughters, 22- year-old Kristin, 17-year-old Mandy and 14-year-old Eve. After being a stay-at-home mom for years, Vanessa recently returned to the workplace and was quickly promoted (much to the dismay of her primarily male co-workers). As a result of Vanessa's increased work load, Mike is pulled into more hands-on parenting than ever before.
Storyline

Episode Summary:
Mike, amazed that Mandy might finally have found a passion for something, takes her under his wing at work when she offers to start an Internet campaign to keep Ed's favorite barber shop hangout from closing. Also, an exhausted Vanessa insists that she can still take care of the household despite her hectic work schedule, until she falls asleep during her own business presentation.
