It was a constellation of stars who stepped out in their finery to cheer, applaud and appreciate some of the most memorable and remarkable performers of the year.
The show, scheduled to air on STAR Plus on New Year’s Eve will recognise India’s best talent from the entertainment industry Bollywood, Television, Sports, Music and Dance. The evening kicked off with popular actor and funny man Shreyas Talpade who rocked the evening with his boyish charm & super comic sense of humor. Keeping Shreyas company for a part of the show was debutant host, the versatile actor Irfaan Khan, with his trade-mark straight faced comedy.
The talented television stars who gave sizzling performances ensured the celebrations were an absolute entertainment package. Television’s most loved stars Gia Manek aka Gopi; Sanjeeda Sheikh, the dancing actress; Shweta Tiwari, television’s hottest star for years; Ragini Khanna, the ever smiling youngster and Manish Paul, the man who can make you laugh and cry at the same time amongst others enthralled the audiences with their scorching dance moves and energy.
The highlight of the evening was Salman Khan who grooved to the tunes of his hits in his impeccable style, leaving audiences asking for more! Another sizzling act was put up by the gorgeous diva Priyanka Chopra who mesmerised the audiences with a super-charged performance. Adding to the glamour quotient was the Sri Lankan beauty Jacqueline Fernandez with a scintillating show. Riding high on the 'Kolaveri Di' fever, the evening would have been incomplete without southern superstar Dhanush’s first ever live performance at the awards show.
The award this year also saw the introduction of a new social category – male, female and film – which honoured the talent of those who entertained audiences with a message. Contending for this slot was none other than the Mega Star Amitabh Bachchan for Aarakshan, Rani Mukherjee for No One Killed Jessica, Nandita Das for I AM.
The celebrities line up at this show covered virtually the who’s-who of the Indian Entertainment Industry. The evening was a crowning glory of glitz and glamour as the entertainers made sure that India brings in the New Year with panache!
On the occasion, Tarun Katial, CEO, Reliance Broadcast Network Limited said, “With an initiative like BIG STAR Entertainment Awards, our endeavor is to raise a toast and felicitate those from the biggest entertainment industry who make films, television, music and sports such a memorable part of our existence. These Awards brought together the giants of the industry, on one platform, to cheer, appreciate their friends, colleagues and fellow co stars from the industry.”
